Partnership with parents

Getting you involved!

We pride our nursery the strong secure relationships we build with both the children and their families.

We understand and support the importance of your role as a parent in relation to your child's academic and emotional development. This is why we encourage parental involvement throughout your child's early learning journey, this includes parent- teacher consultations, home observation opportunities, parent support sessions and much more.

Parents as partners

We have always encouraged an open door policy and welcome your thoughts and ideas. Wherever possible we will take these suggestions on board. Investing commitment and time to building our solid relationships with both you and your child we give us a head start in creating inclusive individualised care.  We are often asked for advice and opinions on certain topics regarding your child's development, we welcome this and will always support and signpost you in positive directions.

Working in partnership with our parents

Working in partnership with parents is very important to children's learning and development. we pride ourselves in our collaborative approach to learning. Each child will be allocated a key person, they will have specific knowledge on how your child understands and is developing, they will have a unique understanding of your child current needs and interests.
Our key workers recognise that the parent is the child's first educator, it is the parent that will understand the child the best, we will ensure we have all the relevant information needed to settle your child and build upon and support their learning.
You will be regularly updated about your child's development, this maybe an informal chat at the beginning or end of your child's day to a 6 month development meeting with your child's keyworker. We will always support regular two way flow of communication.

Parents are also provided with opportunity to access and add too their child's online learning journey via Tapestry. Parents can actively comment on their child's observations, and also upload their own photos, videos and written accounts of learning experiences.

Throughout the year we also will hold social gatherings such as coffee mornings, fundraisers, open days and development days. These are good ways in which we strive to build strong and happy relationships between parents and the nursery in a fun enjoyable way.
